Patient Communications

We communicate with you via phone, secure text, email and occasionally by physical mail. It is the responsibility of patients and their carers to keep their contact details up to date. Your preference for communication can be recorded in your medical notes.

All communication we receive for you in email, fax or post will be scanned into your file and deleted or shredded securely.

Please do not ask the reception staff clinical questions as they are unable to provide answers.

Please do send any clinical questions via email, email is an inappropriate form of communication for clinical care and any such emails will be deleted and reception will ring you to offer an appointment.

You can send administrative requests in email however prescriptions, referrals and medical certificates are clinical matters and will not be dealt by email, instead you will receive a phone call to offer you an appointment.

Please do not contact the clinic for medical emergencies as we do not have the facilities to provide emergency medical care, please call 000.

We use several digital aids to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of appointments and recalls. As such you can generally expect to receive text messages before/after consults as well as when a doctor has reviewed any results or correspond added to your file. You can opt of these messages apart from the recall in regards to results as these are medicolegally required.

Some of the messages you may receive include:

01. Better Consult

This is a message you will receive the day before an appointment which will allow you to prefill some of the issues you would like to address in the upcoming appointment as well provide additional information.  Please note: This is not an appointment booking service.

02. Automated Systems

This automated service will send messages when results.

03. Medical Objects/Healthshare

These services allow for referrals to be sent digitally, you will receive a text message with a digital copy of this referral.

04. My Practice

This app is available on the Apple and Google Play stores. This app allows you to access any results, referrals or e-scripts on your file after your GP has discussed them with you.
